I have a problem creating the data base with pgAdmin III when I specified the location of the data:
ERROR:
could not set permissions on directory "/......." : Operation not permitted
The fact is that I already have permissions on this folder....I'm not sure if I'm doing the rigth thing, I couldn't find much information about using pgAdmin III (the official documentation doesn't explain how to create a data base)...
It's getting hard to start .... x)

Hi everybody!
I've just install postgreSQL on my macbook with the PostgreSQL One Click Installer. I had no problems but i find myself lost right now because i'm not sure what i have to do now... :S
I searched on the documentation of the official PostgreSQL web page but I'm not sure where do I have to follow after the instalation, do I have to continue with that:
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.3/interactive/postgres-user.html
and then I could start using paAdmin III to create my data base?
Thank you so much and sorry for my ignorance

Hi!
I'm trying to install postgreSQL in my macBook and i'm not very sure if i MUST do what the readme txt, that comes with the installer package, explains about changing the sysctl.conf file to ensure that the system is configured to allow the use of larger amounts of shared memory...i'm not sure about it and i'm scared of changing things that should't be touch
Could you tell me if it's really necessary?
In case it is, i just have to copy those ranges on my mac's sysctl.conf file? (macBook with 2GB of RAM)
Thank you so much!
