For all customers using the cloud database in the United States, there was a large power outage across Virginia, affecting Amazon's servers. Please see http://status.aws.amazon.com/ for more information. Scroll down to "Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (N. Virginia)" and click "More" for information about what you should do to verify that your AWS instances are running properly.
