Installation of PostgreSQL 9.0 Beta 4 on Windows 32-bit XP SP3 fails.
The installation postgresql-9.0.0-beta4-windows.exe file was downloaded from the official site of the manufacturer enterpricedb.com.
When you install the file to initialize database cluster at the beginning there was a non-fatal initialization error, and the next step is another problem, and the installation stopped. PostgreSQL services is not created and data directory is empty. Screenshots of both problems and a fragment of logfile attached.
Superuser postgres manually created, and it was granted the right to read and write in the installation directory and data subdirectory.
PS Could not speak English at all, for me it makes Google Translator.

Hello,

Can you tell whats the output of the following command when run from command prompt.

Also, Can you remove the 'postgres' user and uninstall the PostgreSQL installation using the uninstaller. and re-install PG and let the installer create the user for you.

You can also try to use the latest PostgreSQL 9.0 RC1 installer available now on our website.

The latest PostgreSQL 9.0 RC1 installer completely solved all my installation problems. No defects in the installation are no longer observed. Thanks.

I also want to say that the reason for failure was that the path to the temporary directory, which is used to install and activate PostgreSQL in his name contained the Cyrillic characters, which the installer could not correctly processed. Dear developers Installer! Please remember that there is a writing system other than Latin.
