I have installed Postgresql-8.4.2-1 on Windows 7 64bit. The installation went smoothly with no error messages appearing.
Ran the stack builder for the drivers. All went well.
I then checked the OBDC Data Source Administrator and under the User DSN nothing was listed.
Next I tried 'ADD'ing "PostgreSQL" and the following errors were reported one after the other:
"The setup rountines for the PostgreSQL OBDC driver could not be found. Please reinstall the driver."
" Driver's ConfigDSN, ConfigDriver, or Config Translator failed Erros Found:
Component not found in the registry"
I can't add anything to do with PostgreSQL.
I had a previous version of PostgreSQL successfully installed on another computer using Win2000 and then XP platforms. After puchasing my new computer with Windows 7 64 bit on board, I migrated a lot of material accross using the migration wizard. Link????
I scoured my directories for hints of the previous version of PostgreSQL and can't find any signs except a few old logs.

The current installer provides only the 32 bit binaries.
So, you should be able to find the ODBC drivers only for 32 bit application, not for the 64 bit applications.
You will be able to see the drivers using "C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe"
