Problem during installing PostgreSQL 8.4.2-1 on Windows Server 2003 SP2  XML

Constantly experiencing problems installing 8.4.2-1 on Windows Server 2003 SP2.

Postgres user exists on machine and given read/write access to D:\Spatial Data

Towards the end of install, I get the following:

A non-fatal error occured during cluster installation.


followed by:

A non-fatal error occured whilst loading database modules.


and

Problem running post install step. Error reading file D:/Spatial Data/postgres.conf


Log attached, any help would be gratefully received.

Hello,

Your log says:

fixing permissions on existing directory D:/Spatial Data ... initdb: could not change permissions of directory "D:/Spatial Data": Permission denied


Are you sure the user you are running the installer (not the postgres user) have write privileges to that directory??
Also, what happens if you manually run the initdb command? (ping back if you need to know the exact command).
