Status: Critical

Critical - this update fixes a possible data corruption, calculation, search set, or other function that may lead to inaccurate results. WHAT IS IN THIS ALERT

This Technical Alert is notifying you of a software update that addresses the Database Server module shipped with the GA version of Postgres Plus Standard Server 8.4.

The software update contains the software fixes and enhancements through the PostgreSQL point release for the 8.4 (8.4.2) code path. For more details, please visit:

HOW TO GET THE UPDATE AND APPLY IT
==================================

This update is available through the Postgres Plus Standard Server - StackBuilder Plus Module only.

Please perform the following steps in order to update your Postgrtes Plus Standard Server for database server update

1. Right-Click on the System tray icon (Postgres Elephant) and select 'Install Updates'.
OR
Run StackBuilder Plus directly from the Application Menu.
(The update will automatically be selected and displayed in bold)

2. Click Next and choose the download directory (where the update will be downloaded).

3. The installation program will start once the download is complete.

Notes:
a. The database server will be restarted as part of the upgrade process.
b. The data directory will not be affected by this upgrade.

HOW TO RESTORE THE ORIGINAL VERSION
===================================

To revert to the original version of Postgres Plus Standard Server, please access the customer portal (https://www.enterprisedb.com/myenterprisedb/ppss_archive.do) and download the installer version v8.4.1-2 for your platform. Running the installer will restore your database to the original version.

Notes:
a. The database server will be restarted as part of the downgrade process.
b. The data directory will not be affected by this downgrade.
c. You should use the server installer for reverting the database server. Using the original PPSS installer will revert any other updates as well.
