PostgreSQL installer crashes on Win7 x64

I'm using the latest installer from your website (postgresql-8.4.2-1-windows.exe). After entering the port postgres should run on, it crashes. I've tried different installation directories and using a different port, but the problem persists.

I've had a previous installation on this computer, but I've removed the old postgres user and data directory contents.

Can you please post the contents of the installation log? %TEMP%\install-postgresql.log (or as the installer crashes see for %TEMP%\bitrock_installer_<some number>.log )

Here's a BitRock installer logfile (there was an install-postgresql, but that was from the previous installation.)

The log suggested, that it found an existing data directory at C:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL\8.4\data..? Are you sure this directory is empty or doesn't exist??

I did delete the 8.4 directory, but not the base "PostgreSQL" directory. I tried deleting them all now, and it still crashes.

As I said before, trying with a completely different install path did not work either.
