Postgresql on windows 7 ?  XML

Please, can you confirm that with postgresql 8.5 beta2, it's possible to install and run postgresql on windows 7 ?
I have read that with previous version of postgresql, it's not possible to run it as a service.

There is no such release as PostgreSQL 8.5 beta 2, and probably won't be for 4 - 6 months or so. When it is released though, it should work on Windows 7, as 8.4 (the current release) does.

Huh? Postgres runs as a service in the majority of configurations out there.
